Salwa Abdel Shafi story:

Salwa is a resident of one of the slum areas around Cairo. She received training in one of the local NGOs on tailoring and sewing. She specifically learnt on how to work on dresses and blouses. She started working in one of the small sewing factories that are close by, but her husband was not approving of her work and would keep her at home every other day. She was not able to continue in her job.

Salwa was able to borrow some money to buy an old machine and has paid it. Now she needs another loan to buy more accessories for the machine and cloth to make cloths. It’s a project that she has at home to support her family. Salwa has 2 boys. Her husband is a casual worker.

Salwa is 40 years old.

Salwa has reached out to Naslink to help provide her funding for additional accessories and cloth that she needs to buy.  

The extra accessories and cloth will help her increase productivity and improve her income and provide more diversified work for the household.

Salwa wants to make a change in her life and sustain more income for the family. Sewing at home is a more suitable option for her. Having paid off the first loan indicates that she is able to continue with income that would pay off the second.

Naslink will wait for 75% of requests before transfer to the borrower. Repayments start 1 month from transfer to borrowers.  

By supporting this borrower, you are agreeing to the following: 

- An admin fee of 4.5% will be deducted from the repayment installments. 

- Fees are used for verification and operational expenses. 

- An optional 5% of support amount may be given by the supporter to the borrower at the repayment of the last installment as an incentive for full repayment.

- Automatic re-lending options may be selected at payment. 

- Supporters may not support more than 50% of the loan.  

- All payments are electronically exchanged for transparency. No cash exchange.  

- No credit card or other similar financial data is stored on our system. Just name and phone number.  

- The borrower is signing legally binding documents and contracts to ensure the full repayment of support.
